ABOUT OUR PROVIDER - Jae H. Kim, M.D.

     Board-certified in gastroenterology and hepatology, Dr. Kim approaches each patient interaction as respectfully as possible.  His background is medical anthropology, and he uses that knowledge to fully respect each culture along with the ethnic differences.  He truly believes the ethnic background is what makes the art of medicine fascinating.  As providers in the medical field, we must respect and nurture the interaction to create a positive experience to improve the quality of patients’ lives.  

     Dr. Kim grew up in Olympia, Washington.  He went to The University of Michigan for undergraduate studies with a double major in Biology and Anthropology.  He continued onto medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan.  Next, he went to University of Illinois at Chicago for Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship.  He trained as an NIH Research Fellow.  His focus was statistical analysis and clinical outcomes research.  Due to his background in research, he would like to continue clinical research to improve care for patients with an Evidence-Based Medicine approach.

     Dr. Kim is the Associate Program Director at HonorHealth Four Peaks Medical Center Gastroenterology Fellowship.  He participates in the training curriculum to improve the overall GI Fellowship experience.  We have 2 GI Fellows per year and make tremendous effort to train future Gastroenterologist that can support our local community.       

     Dr. Kim does advanced procedures, including ERCP with Spyglass.  He has a clinical interest in biliary disease as well as general gastrointestinal management.  He worked in private practice for many years before joining the Private Equity group with AZ Gastro Care.  Since leaving that private equity, he has cofounded The Group Gastro LLC with Dr. Patel.
